WELCOME TO CASA MILORCA
Casa Milorca is a country getaway in the historic heart of Prince Albert, one of South Africa’s most picturesque and interesting towns and a mecca for foodies, outdoor fans and lovers of the arts. Inspired by their love of the Karoo, owners Salvelio and Louise have created a tasteful and relaxing haven for those wanting to fill up on clean country air and genuine Karoo hospitality. Casa Milorca is a charming and deftly restored 1860s Victorian property in Mark Street. Situated parallel to the main road, it is within easy walking distance of Prince Albert’s main attractions. The house boasts many of the original features associated with the Victorian era, including a bell-cast verandah in the front, sash windows, high ceilings and gleaming Oregon pine floors. There are two spacious suites in the main house, each with clawed bath and shower, as well as a separate cottage suite with shower, living area and its own quaint verandah. The pretty garden, three verandahs and sparkling splash pool are there for guests’ enjoyment and there is also a cosy lounge and reading room should the weather be chilly. The name Casa Milorca is a playful nod to Salvelio’s Latin origins (his mother hails from Salamanca in Spain, where he studied fine arts and lived for many years) and the couple’s two black cats, Mila and Lorca. The Karoo was a natural choice as Salvelio’s South African father was born in nearby De Rust, and Louise and Salvelio have spent much time exploring this ancient and captivating region of South Africa. They have fallen hopelessly in love with Prince Albert and know you will too!

Meet the Owners
Louise Liebenberg
Salvelio Meyer
We are a proudly South African couple and the owners of Casa Milorca. We divide our time between the picturesque Karoo town of Prince Albert and the small coastal city of Port Elizabeth. Louise is the former features editor of Port Elizabeth newspapers The Herald and Weekend Post. Salvelio is an artist and photographer with a strong Latin heritage. We love discovering interesting food, art and vintage finds wherever our travels take us. We have spent time in Salvelio’s ancestral home in the province of Salamanca, Spain and in beautiful South Africa at the southern tip of Africa. Our mutual love of the Karoo inspired us to buy an 1860s Victorian home in the historic heart of Prince Albert at the end of 2016. We have transformed it into a charming country getaway for visitors from around the globe.
